Fremont County Read & Retreat Community Center

A Haven for Readers, Writers, Artists, Musicians, and Dreamers.

Welcome to the Fremont County Read & Retreat Community Center—Wyoming’s first literary retreat and bookstore dedicated to cultivating a vibrant community of readers, writers, artists, and storytellers, and a space designed to foster creativity, community, and growth.

Whether you’re an aspiring author, a lover of literature, or someone seeking a peaceful retreat, we invite you to be part of our mission. Your support will help make this dream a reality: a place for writers, readers, veterans, Native American communities, persons recovering from addictions, and diverse voices to connect, reflect, and find solace.

Our Vision: The Fremont County Read & Retreat Community Center isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a sanctuary for those who love the written word. It’s a place where authors can connect with readers, where aspiring writers, musicians, and artists can hone and share their crafts, and where diverse voices are uplifted and celebrated.

Our Mission

Support Writers

The Fremont County Read & Retreat Community Center will serve as a home for authors from all walks of life, providing them with the tools, space, and community they need to thrive.

Empower Diverse Voices

With a special focus on Native American communities, we’re working with the Wind River Indian Reservation (WRIR) to support their stories through dedicated WRIR anthologies. These anthologies will be a source of cultural pride and a means to elevate Indigenous voices.

Help Veterans

The Center will also support our military veterans by providing a creative space for them to reconnect with their craft and their communities.

Who We Support

We are committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and fostering literary inclusivity. Through the Fremont County Read & Retreat Community Center, we are building strong partnerships with:

Native American Tribes

on the Wind River Indian Reservation (WRIR) and beyond, preserving storytelling traditions and empowering Indigenous authors.

Military Veterans and their families

offering writing workshops and publishing opportunities for those who have served.

Diverse and underrepresented authors and creators

including persons recovering from addiction, ensuring their narratives are heard and valued.

Local schools and libraries

fostering a love for reading among young minds through book donations, literacy programs, and interactive events.

Aspiring and established local authors and artists

by providing a space where they can showcase their work, have book signings, and give presentations.

Why Your Support Matters

  • Establish a brick-and-mortar bookstore and retreat space where authors, illustrators, and readers can engage in meaningful creative and literary experiences.
  • Create a storage facility to house printed materials, allowing us to improve profit margins for our authors and illustrators.
  • Fund reading programs in schools and Fremont County Library, inspiring the next generation of storytellers.
  • Develop scholarships for Indigenous and Veteran writers, giving them the resources to share their voices.
  • Expand our mini writers’ workshops, bringing the joy of storytelling to libraries and fairs.

100% of net profits from sales of LGP anthologies go directly to funding the Fremont County Read & Retreat Community Center, while WRIR anthologies & Veteran’s anthologies net profits will directly benefit the Wind River Indian Reservation & Veterans’ programs respectively.

It’s not OUR Fremont County Read & Retreat Community Center... It’s YOURS.

We invite you to be part of this journey—as a donor, a sponsor, or a community partner. Whether you contribute financially, volunteer your time, or spread the word, your support fuels our mission.
